A Daughter's Grief

For women who have experienced the death of a parent, recently or long ago.

The loss of a parent can shake the very foundation of our lives. Old issues may be churned up along with intense emotion. Many questions arise-- about personal identity, about family patterns and legacy, about the unknown. Yet as adults, we are expected to take it in stride, or to be "over it by now."
This one-day workshop provides time to consider the effects of this loss. Through writing, discussion, imagery, and ceremony, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Acknowledge and give voice to grief
  • Remember and review this special relationship
  • Identify family patterns and areas for personal growth and change
  • Anticipate holidays and other significant dates
  • Develop tools and creative strategies for healing unfinished business and moving through and beyond grief.

Group Leader Linda Silver, MFT, has led groups and classes on grief, loss, and personal change for more than 25 years. She served as the Bereavement Coordinator at Hospice of Marin and is a director of the Milton H. Erickson Institute of thte Bay Area. Linda conducts a psychotherapy practice in which she integrates hypnotherapy and EMDR.
